Interesting Eye Doctor Websites

I’ve come across some websites you may be interested in:

  • Local Eye Site
  • Interesting because it allows all people who work in the eyecare field to use the same site for forums, job search, and buy/sell equipment or practice. I especially like how it is open so that anyone can read what has been posted without being registered. Registration is free if you want to post something.

  • Wal*Mart OD
  • See what your main competition is up to. You won’t be able to post anything, though, because registration is limited to Wal-Mart doctors like me.

  • Association of LensCrafters Leaseholding Doctors (ALL Docs)
  • See what the Lenscrafters eye doctors are up to at this website. From the looks of it, half the site is dedicated to their National Meeting which includes “recreational and social events to help unwind.” A.K.A. providing plenty of booze so you can get hammered and make funny faces while being photographed for their website.

But seriously, what professional organization doesn’t spend all your dues and sponsors’ donations in support of this glorified purpose?

Favorite Summer Grilling Recipe

I’ll go a little off topic today. In the summer I like to grill as often as possible. I thought I would share my favorite grilled chicken recipe:

Use frozen chicken breast and marinate for 4-5 hours at room temperature in a Ziplock bag using McCormick’s Grill Mates Southwest Marinade.
Grill on low heat for about 10-15 minutes per side.
Near the end, apply Kraft’s Honey Barbecue Sauce and then previously cooked bacon (or deli-sliced hickory smoked ham will do if you don’t have the time to fry up the bacon).
After another minute, apply Tillamook or Cache Valley colby jack cheese on the top, let melt, and then serve.

Voila’. Bon Appetit.

It’s similar to something I’ve had at Chili’s.

Republican CCN/YouTube Debate

You can find the transcript of the last Republican debate at CNN.com. About 3/4 the way down, you will find the gun-related questions. (Just hit Ctrl+F and search “Gun”).

Here is how the transcript would read if I were running for POTUS:

Cooper: Mr. Langford, 90 seconds.

Langford: First of all, I don’t believe 90 seconds could possibly treat this topic fairly, so please see my campaign website where I have several essays, videos, and podcasts regarding the important subject of the second amendment.

Second, the term “gun control” is liberal terminology that doesn’t belong in the conservative republican vocabulary. Firearms Freedom is a more accurate description of what we’re talking about.

(Applause)

Third, gun registration by the government is the first step towards gun confiscation by the government, so unlike some of the other candidates, I will not tell you exactly how many firearms I own. I don’t want the government tearing down my door and stealing my guns like they did in New Orleans.

(Wild applause)

Cooper: Okay. Okay. Let’s quiet down.

(Swelling wild applause)

Alright, we’d better go to commercial break.
