David Langford

about this site

David Langford is a graduate of PUCO 2003, worked as a federal service optometrist, then as fill-in commercial, then solo private practice, and now works full time in his favorite modality: independent doctor of optometry inside a Wal-Mart Vision Center.

Optoblog was created in February 2005 to partially fill a niche that is very incomplete: regular optometrists speaking back to the optometric industry and to each other. Blogs are about voice. I won’t pretend that my opinions are the end-all. I just want my voice to be heard. I hope many more optometrists start blogging because our industry needs feedback from we who are on the front lines. We also need to communicate with each other about what is going on in our profession. Sure, web boards are out there, but any moron can write a superfluous reply in a thread. The nice thing about blogs is that when you find a blogger who voices passion with authority, you have a blog that you can value.

So, I don’t pretend that Optoblog should be the only eye-related blog that you should subscribe. Optoblog is the original of many more to come. I plan on keeping you current in optometric news, podcasting relevant interviews with interesting people in the eye world, and writing reviews of optometric products. Please add Optoblog to your list of feeds and tell all your friends.
